Pedro Perelman
Pedro Perelman (Buenos Aires, 1979) is an Argentine contemporary artist whose practice moves between painting, sculpture, installation, muralism, and graphic experimentation.
His work constructs environments in which different temporalities seem to overlap: fragments of the past coexist with possible futures, natural forms with artificial structures, and recognizable figures with imaginary creatures and architectures. His visual universe moves between figuration and abstraction, incorporating elements of Surrealism, design, popular culture, and Latin American graphic traditions.
Time, transformation, technology, nature, and social structures become materials for an ongoing investigation that does not seek to depict a specific future, but rather to imagine different possibilities of existence. Painting serves as a point of departure, while the work expands into other media and spaces, creating relationships between image, object, body, and environment.
In 2000, Perelman co-founded FASE, a collective closely associated with the emergence of Buenos Aires’ street art and graphic culture scene. Over more than two decades, he has developed a multidisciplinary practice presented in galleries, exhibitions, festivals, and international projects across Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, the United States, Europe, and beyond.
He lives and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
