Trystan Bates

Trystan Bates is a multidisciplinary artist and curator. 

His work is built around themes of memory, our shared histories, global mythology, and storytelling. Although abstract in nature, Bates weaves in hints of narrative elements into his pieces to promote easy and playful interactions. It is his hope that viewers leave thinking more deeply about their personal lives, the communities they are part of and the connections that unite us all. 

Trystan has exhibited widely throughout Latin America, Europe and the United States over the past twenty five years. He was the Creative Coordinator / Curator for the Japanese design museum Felissimo NY before relocating to Argentina where he started Honeycomb Arts and was the Founding Director of Honeycomb Gallery in Buenos Aires. He has curated 50+ exhibitions and projects with well over 150 international artists and  is currently the Collection Manager / Archivist for the Londonderry Arts and Historic Society as well as the Founding Director of CHIPMUNK. 

Trystan currently lives and works in Southern Vermont.
